San Diego, USA - Yacht Port

(photo location: Victoria, BC)

Photoshop Yacht

Another Photoshop editing fun game - I enjoy it. Just like it should be with art and photography. This time a photo of a yacht at the port in Victoria, BC. I liked the vibrant colors of the sunset and decided to give the photo a more artistic touch with few simple Photoshop filters corrections.

BC Canada- Freezing in Vancouver

Ancient Nomad

I am in Vancouver and I am freezing. It is better than the rain, but I am a warm weather loving person. It will pass - that's all I want to know, and you can see how committed I am to not complaining ;) There are much colder places in Canada.

I took this photo using my notebook 1.3 Mega pixel built-in camera and then played with it in Photoshop.

Vancouver, BC - Onafhankelijkheidsplein

(photo location: Paramaibo, Suriname)

Paramaibo Onafhankelijkheidsplein Straat

Another interesting photo I came across when looking back at my South America trip was this one - a street name sign from Paramaibo, Suriname. Onafhankelijkheidsplein Straat - I still can't say it ! ... ha ha

Paramaibo has lovely colonial architecture (I will show some photos of it later), and people here speak Dutch and English.

Vancouver, BC - Guiana Space Center

(photo location: Kourou, French Guiana)

Kourou French Guyana - Ariane rocket launch pad

It's the first of December, and I haven't had a chance to take any new photos yet. It has been raining every day, like it probably does more-less for 6 months every year in Vancouver, but today it was nice and sunny. I have been daydreaming of sunshine and traveling in other countries, and this photo from Kourou in French Guiana reminded me of both - just a perfect day to board a rocket and go somewhere...

What you see here is the launch pad of the Ariane space shuttle at the Guiana Space Center. If you ever visit Kourou, you can take a free tour of the launch site. And if you get lucky - you might even see a rocket fly into space. This happenes a few times a year. Of course not from this close - the safety parameter is 15 miles, and apparently you can still feel the air get warmer.

And, well.. right now I would happily settle for just a bus ticket ;)
